Chelsea fans deface statue of Arsenal legend Herbert Chapman

First, it was racial abuse.

Now, slightly more than two months since the earlier incident, Chelsea fans are in the news again for all the wrong reasons after they were caught defacing the statue of Arsenal legend Herbert Chapman outside the Emirates Stadium.

A video footage of the incident shows a group of Blues supporters sticking things on the face of Chapman, who managed the Gunners between 1925 and 1934, winning one FA Cup and two first division titles during his reign.

Chapman’s statue was unveiled in 2011 along with the statues of Arsenal legends Tony Adams and Thierry Henry.

This incident has further tarnished the image of Chelsea fans as another group of supporters were recently involved in a racist incident, denying entry to a black passenger in a metro train in Paris.
