Cleverley seals Aston Villa loan switch
Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has completed a season-long loan move to Aston Villa.
The 25-year-old looked destined to stay at Old Trafford after his wage demands reportedly scuppered moves to the Villans and Everton on transfer deadline day.
But a loan agreement was struck ahead of the summer transfer window's closure and the deal was only ratified later on Tuesday, according to United's official website.
Despite rising through United's youth ranks and making 79 appearances for United, Cleverley was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Louis van Gaal.
It will be a fourth loan spell away from Old Trafford for the English midfielder, who failed to make Roy Hodgson's 23-man squad for the World Cup in June.
