Gareth's sweet Toffees deal! Everton sign Barry for three years
Gareth Barry has returned to Everton permanently after signing a three-year contract with the Toffees.
The English midfielder was a man rejuvenated last season while on loan at Goodison Park from Manchester City, who released the 33-year-old at the end of his five-year contract.
After helping Roberto Martinez's men to a fifth-place finish in the English Premier League and qualify for the Europa League, returning to the blue half of Merseyside was a no-brainer for Barry who revealed that he couldn't put pen to paper any sooner.
Speaking to evertontv, Barry said: "I was really keen to get this sorted before the lads come back to training on Thursday. I'm delighted now that everything is signed and that I'm going to be spending the next few years at Everton.
"When you are on loan, it is never the same as being a signed player. I was really settled last year - but now I am an official Everton player and it feels really good.
"There is a fantastic history here and it was brilliant working with the manager.
"I have learned so much from him, it is a great set of players and the fans were fantastic last year - just everything about Everton feels right."
