Here's what you didn't see on TV during the World Cup final
For a few minutes, the world ground to an abrupt halt as play was temporarily suspended during the World Cup final between Germany and Argentina.
A pitch invader had found his way onto the pitch and while fans in the Maracana Stadium saw what had happened, viewers at home were shown pictures of Rio de Janeiro's Christ the Redeemer statute on their TV screens.
It turns out that the intrepid intruder was infamous YouTube prankster Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, who had run onto the pitch in the second half with the scores locked at 0-0.
With the words "natural born prankster" written on his torso, Zdorovetskiy was reportedly seen blowing kisses at fans before he decided to try and plant a big wet one on German defender Benedikt Hoewedes.
After a brief chase, the comedian was taken down by security personnel and escorted from the pitch.
While broadcasters correctly chose to omit the incident from their coverage, the incident (including a rather unorthodox method of stopping by one of the security men) was captured on camera by NBA star LeBron James, who posted it on Instagram.
Even though he was pleased with himself as he tweeted that he was "finally famous", Zdorovetskiy later regretted (sort of) not choosing a higher profile target like Argentina and Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
