LVG handed transfer targets...by a fan
At Manchester United’s Carrington training ground, manager Louis van Gaal was meeting some fans with life-limiting illnesses.
He most certainly didn’t expect to be handed a transfer-target list.
The fan said as he handed it over to the Dutchman: “I did some homework for you and brought a transfer list.”
It contained the who’s who in the world of football. And Van Gaal didn’t hesitate to read it out loud.
“(Mats) Hummels, (Nathaniel) Clyne, (Paul) Pogba, (Gareth) Bale, (Memphis) Depay, Jackson Martinez,” he said.
“Thank you for your advice.
“You are smart and a very cheap manager.”
He later added: “It’s easy for me, next year we are the champions.”
For sure, United fans wouldn’t mind it one bit if van Gaal or the club follows the fan’s advice.
