Man City midfielder claims he sees ghosts

Footballers are known for having some weird and wonderful pastimes, but Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph has revealed that he regularly sees ghosts.

In a video posted on the club’s YouTube channel, the former Aston Villa star suggested that ghosts had haunted his hotel when he first signed for the Birmingham club and that he had seen a ghost carrying a body onto his balcony in Yorkshire.

Delph, who has struggled to break into the City starting line-up of late, revealed that he remembers four times when he has encountered the supernatural.

“I see ghosts all the time,” he told the club’s YouTube channel. I think I’ve seen four. When i first signed for Villa I stayed in a hotel and there were a lot of things moving in the room.

“And about four months ago I saw two ghosts in the bedroom. That was actually carrying a body and it went out on to my balcony and disappeared.”

Clichy bromance

As well as his meetings with ghosts, Delph also let slip his blossoming bromance with City defender Gael Clichy, indicating that the pair have children of the same age and have hit it off since the midfielder signed from Villa in July 2015.

“He’s just a great guy and definitely my best friend,” Delph said of Clichy.

The former Leeds United prospect also named current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane as his favourite footballer, while suggesting that his Yorkshire accent may be too strong to go into punditry, favouring a coaching role when he eventually hangs up his boots.
