Man City trolled over #AskJesus hashtag
Always think twice before starting a hashtag on social media.
Manchester City clearly did not when starting one to take questions from fans for an interview with Jesus Navas.
Instead of going with the Spain international's surname, the City social media team bizarrely opted for #AskJesus.
Cue Internet hijinks and religion-related questions.
At least one guy prophesied the coming storm:
Some City fans tried to ask legitimate football questions to their hero, but that soon gave way to relentless (and very funny) trolling.
Aside from clever Bible puns and requests for divine intervention, there were quizzes on abilities...
...prayers of hope from Manchester United fans...
...and requests for the impossible.
While City's hashtag trended to No. 1 in the UK, it certainly didn't pan out the way it intended to.
So remember - if you want Twitter to take you seriously, always, ALWAYS check your hashtags.
