Ouch! Female referee gets smacked in face by a football
This will make you wince.
Referee Salome di Lorio was taking charge of a fifth-tier football match between Centro Espanol and Liniers in Argentina when she was on the wrong end of a hoofed clearance.
The 34-year-old took the rocket square in the face and fell to the ground.
A dazed di Lorio was immediately surrounded by concerned players from both sides while she was treated on the pitch by medics.
She was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The experienced official, who also works as a lawyer, took charge of the women's Copa Libertadores final in 2009 and was also a referee at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
