Van Gaal snaps at reporter after question about Pedro transfer
A reporter had a taste of Louis van Gaal’s infamous temper when he went into forbidden territory during a press conference for Saturday’s game against Newcastle United.
The Manchester United manager had earlier said he won’t be discussing their failure to sign Barcelona winger Pedro Rodriguez, who had gone to Stamford Bridge instead.
However, the said reporter tempted fate by asking if it was van Gaal or Pedro who had pulled the plug on the transfer, prompting the Dutchman to snap: “You are a little bit deaf.
“I don’t discuss that. So you can ask for another 10 minutes and we shall end the press conference.”
In another interview, Pedro’s agent Antonio Sanz claimed that United had “fallen asleep” in negotiations, allowing Chelsea to steal in and sign the player within 24 hours in a £21.4million ($47.3m) deal.
