What's Obama's mug doing here?
What happens when you put a rugby fan in charge of sourcing pictures of the England team going to the World Cup?
You end up with the President of the United States in a Three Lions shirt, that's what.
British wholesale website Wholesale Clearance UK posted a listing featuring 2,000 Chris Smalling World Cup 2014 mugs.
However, anyone who picks up any of the mugs will come face-to-face with a mugshot of Barack Obama instead of the England defender.
According to the listing, an intern who is more into rugby than football was tasked with looking for royalty free pictures of England players for use on a merchandise company's line of World Cup products.
Like any tech-savvy individual who doesn't know anything about the subject he's working, the intern Googled Chris Smalling and picked the first image from the search results returned to him.
Somehow, it turned out to be Obama's picture instead.
While bosses and supervisors exist to weed out little errors like this, the intern's boss clearly had something else on his mind when he rubber-stamped the image for printing.
In case you don't watch football, here's what Chris Smalling, who plays for Manchester United, looks like:
Ye-ah.
The mistake was only discovered after 2,000 mugs were churned out.
Then again, maybe England could've used POTUS as part of their World Cup squad, considering they've already been eliminated from the tournament.
