Injured Kif Toh out for several months

Promising first-season apprentice Kif Toh will be out of action for several months, following an unfortunate incident in Race 8 last Friday night.

His mount Sir Fleetwood fell near the 500m mark and Toh was sent to hospital for observation after complaining of chest and back pains.

A CT scan revealed three fractures on his back and one on his neck.

The 26-year-old started the evening on a high last Friday, winning on his first two rides, State Trooper in Race 1 and Paterson Road in Race 3, which took his tally to 11 winners in just three months of riding.

RETROSPECT, the last of his six nominated rides yesterday, won with apprentice R Shafiq astride in the final race.
