Juglall gets four-month extension

Jockey Nooresh Juglall will be riding in Singapore until the end of the year. The 23-year-old Mauritian jockey's current three-month visiting jockey's licence, which expires on Aug 31, has been renewed.

Since his Kranji riding debut in mid-June, the former two-time South African champion apprentice jockey has made an immediate impact with his riding skills, going on to record 16 wins in 84 rides for a healthy strike rate of 19.05 per cent. He currently sits 10th on the jockey's premiership.

Juglall's rapid rise through the Kranji riding ranks was highlighted by a four-timer on Aug 3 - which incidentally brought up his five-year career tally to 300 wins, most of which were registered during his apprenticeship in South Africa and short stints in Mauritius.

Besides his two South African apprentice jockeys' titles, Juglall also boasts 10 Group wins to his name.

Despite his young age and the fact he only came out of his time in March, Juglall has already enjoyed plenty of overseas experience, having also ridden in Zimbabwe, Qatar and Macau. He goes to scale at 50kg.
