Juventus trounces Indonesian Super League All-Star team 8-1

Juventus smashed Indonesian Super League All-Stars team 8-1 in their pre-season match on Wednesday night (Aug 6).

This was the first match of the Bianconeri's (Juventus' nickname, meaning the black-and-whites) Asia-Pacific tour which sees them play one match against a local selection in Indonesia, Australia and finally Singapore on Aug 16.

Juventus featured a strong line up against the Indonesian selection.

Club legends Gianluigi Buffon, Andrea Pirlo and French legend Paul Pogba all started for them.

While the local side took a shock lead via Srdjan Lopicic, Juventus immediately hit back via a penalty kick from Andrea Pirlo.

That goal opened the floodgates for Fernando Llorente, who scored a hat-trick in the space of six minutes to put them firmly in control of the friendly.

Llorente, with his strike partner Sebastian Giovinco, put Juventus five goals up by the time the whistle was blown for half time.

Three goals came in the second half, courtesy of new recruit Kingsley Coleman (previously from Paris Saint Germain), second half subtitute Carlos Tevez and Simone Pepe. They ensured that Juventus cantered to a win.

So is he moving?

For those on the look-out for transfer news, do note that Arturo Vidal - strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer - was missing from the line-up.

Although a report in The Guardian stated that Chile's manager poured cold water on the deal  after United raised fitness concerns over Vidal. He had gone for knee surgery in April before Chile's World Cup campaign.
