Man Utd goalkeeper's better half will sing for Spain

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea represents his country on the international stage.

Now his girlfriend will too.

The 24-year-old’s other half, Edurne Garcia, will be Spain’s entry in the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

The 29-year-old buxom blonde has been dating de Gea since 2010.

She burst into the spotlight in a Spanish music reality show in 2005 and will be hoping her talent with the microphone will see her match her boyfriend’s reputation as one of Europe’s best.

De Gea tweeted his delight, saying: “We couldn’t have a better contestant for @Eurovision! Very proud of you @Edurnity! #EdurneVision.”

Garcia is hopeful that the Spanish custodian would be present at the Vienna Stadthalle on May 23 to support her, despite United playing Hull City in the English Premier League a day later.

She told the Mail Online: “He (de Gea) was very happy for me when I told him, just like my family and friends.

“The people who love you share in your good news.

“David and I are very, very happy together. I think he’s going to be tied up with league commitments but I hope he can be there at the final along with my family and friends so we can live the experience together.”

Your girlfriend’s already dropped the hint, David, so it might be time to put in a request to manager Louis van Gaal for some time off.

Muchas cosas mejoran año tras año. Tu eres una de ellas !! Feliz cumpleaños princesa!! Te quiero mucho!! ❤️@edurnity
