Sasha Christian wins wakeboard gold medal
Wakeboarder Sasha Christian lived up to the favourite tag to win the gold medal in the women's individual wakeboard event at the Bedok Reservoir on Friday (June 12).
Having led throughout the preliminaries and semi-finals, the 22-year-old dominated the final, with a score of 59.00.
Silver medallist Galuh Mutiara Maulidina from Indonesia could only manage a 43.11, while Jawn Maiquel Selga of the Philippines came in third with a score of 30.89.
Singaporean Gooi Jia Yi finished fourth with a score of 30.22.
Christian also topped the preliminaries in the women's slalom event on Friday (June 12) to qualify for the final on Saturday (June 13).
