FAS offers more concession rates for Suzuki Cup tickets
More good news for local football fans planning to support the Lions in their AFF Suzuki Cup campaign later this month.
The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) last night rolled out additional concession rates for Category 1 to 3 tickets for Singapore's matches, which will be played at the 55,000-seater National Stadium.
When the original ticket details were released on Monday, concession rates were offered only for Category 4 tickets.
Gerard Wong, FAS' marketing and communications director, said: "We have received a lot of positive feedback from the public on the ticket prices.
"There were also suggestions that concession rates be offered for children and senior citizens for Category 1 to 3 tickets.
"This is to enable families with children and grandparents to cheer the Lions together at other sections of the National Stadium.
"As such, we have started offering concession rates for the higher category tickets.
"Fans who want to upgrade their concession tickets, or convert their normal tickets to concession tickets can contact www.sportshubtix.sg for more information or call their hotline at 6333-5000."
Singapore, who host Group A, will play against Thailand on Nov 23, Myanmar on Nov 26 and Malaysia on Nov 29.
Tickets for all three Singapore matches are selling well.
The New Paper understands that about 20 per cent of tickets have been sold since sales started on Tuesday.
BRISK
Ticket sales for the other three matches in Group A, which will be played at the Jalan Besar Stadium, have also been brisk.
In fact, Myanmar's entire ticket allocation, about 10,000, was all snapped up within 36 hours.
It is understood Myanmar were allocated 4,000 tickets for the match against Singapore, and 3,000 for their games against Malaysia and Thailand.
A Myanmar supporter, who asked not to be named, complained to TNP that their ticket allocation for the Singapore match is too small.
The 34-year-old IT project manager said: "I managed to get my tickets before they were sold out, but I heard some others are buying the tickets meant for Singapore fans and are hoping to get in.
"I'm not sure how successful they will be, as I know stadium security staff will check the identity of ticket-holders before letting them into the stadium.
Typically, away fans are allocated between five and seven per cent of a stadium's capacity.
On Tuesday, TNP and FAS announced ticket packages which would provide fans an all-rounded Suzuki Cup experience.
Those who purchase any one of four Group Stage Packages - which will enable them to watch all three Singapore's matches - will be entitled to a subscription of TNP's online and mobile platforms.
Those who purchase Group Stage Packages for Cat 1 ($98) and Cat 2 ($78) will receive a three-month subscription, while Cat 3 ($58) and Cat 4 ($38) buyers receive a one-month subscription.
