Man United fans still love me, says forgotten man Anderson
Manchester United’s forgotten man believes that the club’s fans still love him.
And Anderson is using this as a source of motivation to fight his way back into manager Louis van Gaal’s plans.
Except that he hasn’t played since August and the most recent sighting of him came early this month in an FA Cup clash with Yeovil, although he remained on the bench.
Said Anderson: “This year I’m working really hard to try and regain the confidence of the coaches, because I have a lot of love for this club.
“I really like Manchester, I’ve spent a long time here and the fans have a lot of affection for me.”
Less than a week ago, the Daily Mail reported that there hasn’t been a single bid during the current transfer window for the midfielder, whose contract runs out this summer.
Still only 26, the former Porto man cost the Red Devils about £20 million in 2007.
