Paul Scholes: Yaya strop over birthday snub is "embarrassing"
Paul Scholes has slammed Yaya Toure for his "comical" sulking following his fussing over a perceived birthday snub from Manchester City.
After suggesting on his weekly blog for Irish bookmakers Paddy Power that England should emulate Liverpool's attacking instincts to maximise their World Cup chances, the former England and Manchester United man had some choice words for the Ivorian midfielder.
Toure has been angling for a move/fat new contract from Manchester City via his agent after the upper echelons of the club failed to recognise his birthday.
Scholes is clearly unimpressed by the City man's conduct, as he wrote: "As for Yaya Toure sulking because Manchester City didn’t mark his birthday with sufficient respect, it was comical.
"Quite embarrassing, really. I can’t remember Man United players acting like this. We still came back for pre-season.
"Poor Yaya, maybe the big lad just needs a cuddle."
Ouch.
