Pissed off: Grosskreutz apologises for peeing in hotel lobby
Borussia Dortmund footballer Kevin Grosskreutz has apologised for urinating in a Berlin hotel lobby after his club's 2-0 German Cup final defeat to Bayern Munich on May 17.
According to the Mail Online, the midfielder had returned after drowning his sorrows at the Kraftwerk night club when he decided to relieve himself in the Hotel Berlin lobby at around 6am.
Grosskreutz then got himself into a dispute with another hotel guest, which led to the police being called in although the German international had left the scene when they arrived.
The incident prompted a reprimand from club and country, although Grosskreutz will still head to Brazil for the World Cup as part of Joachim Low's 23-man squad.
Grosskreutz apologised, saying: "I was totally frustrated after the game.
"We had planned so much and really wanted to win the trophy. I had a blackout. I am sorry."
The 25-year-old, whose on-field versatility resulted in a quirky YouTube video on him made by the Bundesliga (see above), has recently been in the spotlight for bad behaviour.
Earlier in May, Grosskreutz was charged for assault after he flung a kebab at a Cologne fan, who claimed the snack struck his face and left him with burning eyes.
Although Grosskreutz confirmed the incident, the footballer insisted that he had thrown the kebab at the floor, not the fan.
