Ronaldo slams The Sun for publishing fake interview

Real Madrid and Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has blasted British tabloid The Sun for publishing an interview he says he never gave.

The 29-year-old tweeted that the interview was “pure fiction”, Irish Independent reported.

The article claimed that the former Manchester United winger scored every goal for his late father.

“My dad would want me to play, he always did everything in life for me to play football,” he is claimed to have said in the article.

“When I win something I always think about him. I know he’s around. He’s always looking at me and out for me. He sends me messages in my dreams because what I am today is thanks to him and to my mother.”

Meanwhile, the superstar, who helped Real Madrid win their 10th Champions League title, joined his national team-mates at the Praia del Rey resort on Portugal’s Atlantic coast for their World Cup preparation.
