RVP can't wait to train with new Man Utd colleagues

Manchester United's £150 milllion ($304.6m) summer spree on new players hasn't just exciting their fans - it even has Robin van Persie stoked.

The Dutch striker cannot wait to get back on club duty with world class players like Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao arriving at Old Trafford to give Louis van Gaal's ailing Red Devils a boost.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, van Persie, who famously said that he listened to the little boy inside of him when he decided to leave Arsenal for rivals United in 2012, said: "I can’t wait to go and train and play with the world class players we have signed - wow!

"That feeling that we are going to perform well, has only got stronger after the buying of players over the last weeks. I find it very exciting, the arrival of all those new players.

"For me, personally, it's brilliant to go and play with some of the best players in the world. It's great that I can go and train and play with them every day."

Playing till 40

It certainly does seem that United's new recruits have awakened the little boy in van Persie again.

Even though he celebrated his 31st birthday last month, the Holland captain is hoping to prolong his career for another nine years.

He said: "I want to go on as long as possible. I want to go to the World Cup when I am 35, I want to play professional football until I am 40.

"Most probably, it will be for a less famous club by then, but I do want to play as long as I can.

"Every target I have set myself up until today in my career I have reached. So I am going to get the other targets, too."
