STC to simulcast six Korean meetings

The Singapore Turf Club (STC) will simulcast and operate totalisator services for selected races from South Korea over the next three months.

On six selected Saturday afternoons from June 21 to Sept 27, the STC will feature thoroughbred races from Seoul and Busan-Gyeongnam race parks.

This co-operation with Korea Racing Authority (KRA) follows the successful simulcast of the 32nd Korean Grand Prix race last December.

Said Lee Jong Dae, KRA's executive director of racing and business development division: "We are determined to present our horse racing that is dynamic and full of Korean culture."

The STC's vice president (wagering) Teo Kim Heng welcomed the opportunity to showcase Korea races, saying that the club will be the first jurisdiction in the world to simulcast regular races from Korea.

"We are confident our customers will enjoy these quality races," he added.

The six race meetings which will be beamed from Korea:

June 21: Seoul (8 races)

July 5: Seoul (9 races)

Aug 2: Busan-Gyeongnam (8 races)

Aug 23: Seoul (13 races)

Aug 30: Seoul (13 races)

Sept 27: Seoul (9 races)
