29: Using plastic bottles placed upright, Tampines Primary School forms the number 29 for the countdown to next month’s SEA Games. The bottles are surrounded by painted aluminium cans, placed on a black cardboard in the shape of Singapore. Every can carries a unique design symbolising every individual in Singapore. By placing the cans together, the school wants to show that Singaporeans can stay a united people regardless of race, language or religion. The pupils form a border around the artwork with their arms interlocked, demonstrating their loyalty to Singapore.
