36 sports in 235 seconds: The New Paper's Epic SEA Games video
The New Paper sports desk puts together a video showcasing the 36 sports
It started off as a pipe dream. Nobody has ever done it.
Okay, professional French prankster Remi Gaillard has, with his clutch of comedy clips, but the 40-year-old has never pulled off one on this scale; although the he was a major inspiration.
Inspired by the athletes at the 28th SEA Games, The New Paper produced its own video of all the 36 sports in the programme, within the confines of our workplace, filmed and edited only with the iPhone 6.
So we set off, filming some of the most difficult scenes first: How do we depict the aquatic sports without a pool in our newsroom?
But we did it. The sense of achievement was short-lived. It was one sport down, 35 more to go. How can?
SPURRED
We kept plugging on, racking our brains and plucking each others' to try to complete the full complement of SEA Games sports, which we ultimately managed to do with a huge dose of teamwork from The New Paper family.
Look out for hilarious cameos by TNP editor Dominic Nathan, sports editor Lim Han Ming and associate editor Leonard Thomas, who were game enough to be part of this creative adventure.
We didn't give up and, today, we are proud to showcase TNP's Epic SEA Games Video:
If you like it, feel free to share it online.
