Han claims S'pore's 2nd Para Games gold
Swimmer Han Liang Chou won Singapore's second gold medal, after teammate Theresa Goh, at the 8th Asean Para Games on Friday (Dec 4).
Han clocked 1 min 19.06 sec to finish first in in the men's 100m breast SB14, while compatriot Lawrence Tay was third with 1:20.38.
Malaysia's Yoong Chung Wei took silver with 1:20.08.
"I am excited and happy to win gold, I sped up at the turn and had cramps in both legs 25m from the wall, but I told myself not to give up," said Han, 19, who is intellectually disabled.
It is Han's first gold medal, in his third outing at the biennial Games.
He won a bronze in the 50m back in his debut in 2011, and a silver and a bronze - in the men's 100 breast and 100 back respectively - at the Games in Myanmar last year.
