Male cagers into last four
A fabulous start was just the tonic Singapore's basketballers needed at the OCBC Arena last night as they eventually ran out 65-58 winners over Thailand.
A sparkling performance by Desmond Oh, who scored 16 points, helped the Republic's men's team continue their perfect record of four wins in four games but, more importantly, avoid a semi-final meeting with hot favourites Philippines.
Earlier, the Philippines had walloped Timor-Leste 126-21 in the other group to remind everyone that they are the team to beat in the tournament.
Singapore will take on Indonesia in tomorrow's semi-finals, while the Philippines must wait until the completion of the remaining Pool B matches to find out who they play.
