S'pore shooters land gold
There were more spectators than seats as around 250 crammed into the Safra Yishun Indoor shooting range to catch the Singapore's shooting stars in action at this SEA Games. More were turned away after the capacity was filled.
Yet waking up early for the 10m air rifle women's team event was worth it.
After each athlete fired 40 rounds in 50 minutes, the trio of Jasmine Ser, Tessa Neo and Martina Veloso shot their way to the top of the podium.
They took gold after their combined score of 1233.9 comfortably beat Malaysia's Taibi Nur Suryani, Abdul Halim Nur Ayuni Farhana and Zulkifli Muslifah's total of 1222.9.
Thailand's Thanyalak Chotohibunsin, Sununta Majchacheep and Supaluk Pimpan collected bronze with a score of 1219.2.
Ser (with a score of 414.2 out of a maximum of 436), Tessa (410.5) and Martina (409.2) also qualified for the individual final, which takes place in the afternoon.
