Taking floorball by storm

Singapore claimed the first-ever floorball titles in both the men's and women's SEA Games finals on Sunday.

In an earlier match, the women's team won after a nail-biting penalty shoot-out against Thailand. But the men's team had a smoother journey to gold against their Thai opponents.

In the first period of the men's event, Singapore's Rashid Jalaluddin scored the first goal of the game with just a minute left of the clock.

The team carried on the momentum to secure a 4-0 lead in the second period, and ended the game with a 9-0 win.

Thailand settled for silver while Malaysia took bronze for the men's event.
