Trainer HK Tan also lands a double
After saddling two seconds with Battle Boy in Race 2 and Speed Demon in Race 7, trainer Tan Hor Khoon's luck changed last night.
He took the last two races in the nine-race programme with GALLANT HEIGHTS and PURE TACTICS.
And, like Shane Baertschiger, both his winners also relished the Polytrack. They each had two earlier wins on the surface.
The double has taken Tan (above) to 17 winners for the season.
Ridden by leading apprentice Noh Senari, Gallant Heights travelled in midfield and then fought out a tense battle in the closing stages before scoring by half-a-length from Silver Fly in the Class 5 event over 1,600m. Gallant Heights paid $26 for a win.
Pure Tactics, who followed handily before scoring an easy win in the Class 4 race over 1,200m with Oscar Chavez astride, was a recent transfer to Tan's yard.
The $11 favourite, who had worked very well, was previously trained by Steven Burridge, who sent the gelding out 18 times for two wins, seven seconds and a third.
