What they had to say...

All my horses have drawn well. Normally you get mixed results when you have many runners, but I was lucky. Valbuena has drawn No 1, which is not a concern as he's got James McDonald on his back. James knows what to do. Alfonso has drawn a lovely gate. This is the gate Corey (Brown) wanted and he's got it, but to me, anything between 5 and 8 would have suited him. Magical Talent has also drawn well. My apprentice Rueven Ravindra will ride him and they will probably settle in midfield somewhere.

It's a nice draw for both my horses. They've both drawn next to each other and from that position they can dictate the race and the jockeys can decide what they want to do for the race and where the speed is going to be. It's in their hands now.

I'm very pleased. It's just lovely. It's the ideal spot for him and I can put him in a handy position from there. He trialled very well this week and his form is good. I'm just hoping for some decent pace in the race.

Very happy with gate six for Bendicion. She will be able to get into the box-seat from there and just sit at the front of the midfield. She's a horse that doesn't have to lead but she is a good finishing horse. She may not have won a Group race yet but her form is good and she has done well in Group 1 races in the past so I think she will run a good race here again."

- Hideyuki Takaoka (BENDICION and FLYING TEMPO)

It's a really good starting position and she's in good form. She's looked really well to me and I think there'll be enough pace in the race for her."

A good mate of mine, Tim McGrath, used to play for the Geelong Cats, my favourite footy team, and he used to wear the No 17 jersey. I think it's a good omen as Gold Hill has drawn 17. That makes me happy, but seriously, it doesn't really matter as he's an EA. Flight Ofthe Saker has also drawn badly, but it's okay as he goes back. It's not too bad. Wall Street Boy drew the best of the three.

We were actually hoping he'd draw seven - it's perfect. That will give him every chance, but to be honest, it didn't really matter all that much as he will be ridden quiet.

Well, at least he will jump in from 16, but it's still the widest. It's obviously not ideal, but he will still go out there and put in a good run. Hopefully, his class will see him through."
