Wild Geese among the best he's ridden

Starved of gilt-edged chances of late, champion apprentice A'Isisuhairi Kasim was thankful for the ride aboard WILD GEESE (right), a horse he considers among the best he has ridden in his young career at Kranji.

"He's one of the best horses here. He ran second to Better Life in the Derby last year and that has to be a good formline," said the 2013 Singapore champion apprentice jockey.

"I was really over the moon when my master and Dr Tan gave me the ride, as I've been struggling to get on the good horses for a while now.

"Dr Tan is the one who gave me my first winner here (Kobe Top Gun) and I'd like to thank him for always supporting me even when I'm claiming only 1kg now.

"I couldn't be happier when he (Wild Geese) settled during the race. I just wanted to leave him alone with plenty of clear room around him.

"He took a while to get his gears in the home straight. But, once I gave him a couple of whacks, he just kept finding."

With that fourth win from 13 runs, Wild Geese is fast approaching $500,000 in earnings for Dr Tan's Hippocrates Stable.
