'Young Gun' Noh is fit for showdown

Apprentice jockey Noh Senari has been declared fit and will represent Singapore at the annual Asian Young Guns Challenge in South Africa on Aug 2.

The 22-year-old Singaporean was an injury doubt when he twisted his right knee last Sunday.

He was given the all-clear on Monday afternoon after consulting Dr Radha Krishnasamy at the Fullerton Healthcare Group at Cecil Street and will leave for Durban as planned on July 29.

He will be accompanied to the Clairwood Racecourse by Singapore Turf Club master of apprentices Damien Kinninmont.

Noh had led the apprentice jockeys' log for the majority of this year and is currently second in the standings with 18 wins after being passed by reigning champion apprentice A'Isisuhairi Kasim (23 wins) who has struck a rich vein of form in recent weeks.
