Malaysian worker dies after being hit by SBS Transit bus

In two weeks, two people have died at road junctions after being hit by SBS Transit buses.

Yesterday, SBS Transit told The New Paper that they are stepping up checks on junction drills for their bus captains.

Four years ago, regular cyclist Yang Changxing was on a leisure ride in Jurong when a motorist collided with him.

Mr Yang, 52, injured his collarbone and had to be hospitalised for a week.

One cyclist died and another was injured after they were knocked down by a van along Senoko South Road yesterday.

The van also crashed into a stationary car parked outside Sunway Marketing Company, injuring the driver.

Singapore cyclist dies during Johor race

It was the first time the Singaporean was participating in the cycling event in Malaysia and it turned out to be his last.

Mr Mawadi Rahmat, 46, was taking part in this year’s Kulaijaya Extreme Cycling Carnival on Sunday when he collapsed during the ride at Kulai in Johor.

A cyclist stopped his bicycle in front of a double decker bus at a bus stop at Jalan Bukit Merah on Tuesday in a fit of anger. The unidentified Caucasian man marched onto the bus, which was service number 197, and accused the driver of trying to force him off the road.
