Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers rescued three people who were trapped in a burning three-room flat in Block 619, Hougang Avenue 8 yesterday.

WHEN Aljunied-Hougang Town Council (AHTC) got a red score for collection of service and conservancy charges arrears during the latest Town Council Management Review, it blamed the company managing the council’s computer and financial system -- Action Information Management (AIM).

An 18-year-old fell from the fourth-storey and landed on the roof of a covered walkway before falling to the ground.

A GROUP of five friends was celebrating Christmas outside a fourth-storey HDB flat in Hougang when one of them fell off the parapet along the common corridor.

His friends tried to grab him, but it was too late.

IT took the police about 15 hours before they were able to locate and remove the body of a 59-year-old man from the toilet of a Hougang flat.

The Hougang by-election is down to the last day of campaigning today and both contenders are expected to come out punching in their final rallies.

In the blue corner is Mr Png Eng Huat, representing defending champion Workers’ Party which has held the seat for two decades.
