Ms Renee Medrano, mother of a 7-year-old boy, claimed her son was told to eat his lunch out of a garbage can after he'd thrown it away.

Parents of Methodist Girls' School (MGS) students will need to pay higher school fees from next year - $335 a month. School fees are now about $295 a month.

This is due to a rise in operating costs, said MGS principal Shirleen Ong.
