Are Ngee Ann Polytechnic students the vainest among their peers from all polytechnics?
Well, it seems as such.
TNP polled 1,000 students from the five Polytechnics - 100 boys and 100 girls from each institute - and students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic came up tops. The survey consisted of questions about how often the students go for hair treatments, shopping, the kind of beauty enhancements used and how much they are willing to spend on these.
Out of 100 points, Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) came in first with 43.1 points. Temasek Polytechnic (TP) came in second, with 43 points. Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) is third with 42 points. Singapore Polytechnic (SP) is fourth with 40.1 points and Republic Polytechnic (RP) scored the lowest with 40 points.
If polytechnic students were once said dress sloppily for to school, they seem to have picked up their game and are paying more attention to their dressing and appearance.
Schools with students who are less "vain" claim that they concentrate more on their studies and thus the low scoring. Whereas, schools with "vainer" students defending themselves by saying they take effort to look presentable. Agree?
We then went out to ask students from all Polys what they thought of the results.
While students may make great attempts at being well-groomed, that doesn't necessarily translate in being trendy. Which are the best and worst of Poly fashion trends?
