Angry Birds, the movie: Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage will voice mighty eagle
Do you remember when Angry Birds was the game of choice on the MRT and buses?
That was way back when in 2010 - when MRT breakdowns were still virtually unheard of.
Just in case you somehow managed to miss it, it was the hugely popular app where players used a slingshot to launch birds at various structures.
And Sony Pictures has decided to make a movie about the iPhone app that caught the world's attention for a time (It still has 200 million players, down 24 per cent from its peak in 2012, according to The Guardian).
So it was probably wise that the voice cast of the movie featured some stellar high-profile names.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Saturday Night Live alumni Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader and Maya Rudolph will star in the animated film adaptation of the app.
Peter Dinklage, one of the stars of Game of Thrones, will also be in the movie - voicing the character named Mighty Eagle.
Recently, it was announced that Tetris would be made into an epic sci-fi movie.
What's next? Candy Crush?
Has anyone ever thought of making a dramatic, potentially Oscar-winning movie about mature adults being addicted to a game about candy?
