The two-and-the-half minute preview for the most-anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey, an erotic drama based on the best-selling EL James novel, has drawn an astounding 36.4 million eyeballs on YouTube, according to the Hollywood Reporter (THR), citing figures compiled by tech firm Zefr.
Looks like the people behind the Fifty Shades phenomenon don't have plans to halt the worldwide excitement.
The previous high of 31 million views was for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film while Godzilla and Transformers: Age of Extinction both notched 26.3 million views in their first weeks, said THR.
Fifty Shades of Grey, starring Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, will open in theaters on Valentine’s Day next year.
Fans around the world are already getting hyped up despite the fact that the release date is months away.
