Guess who Bill Murray wants to see in Ghostbusters 3

Ghostbusters 3 is officially getting started as producers, actors and actresses are being discussed. 

Everyone's been voicing their opinions about the cast and crew but who better to hear from than Billy Murray, one of the original Ghostbusters​?

While he may not be starring in the third production, the female-centric plot has him suggesting who he believes will best play the star characters.

Talking to The Toronto Star, Murray brought up Melissa McCarthy and a few other favourite female comedians.

“Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny!" he told the Star during the Toronto Film Festival last weekend.

“I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

Some of his choices may actually work out as Ivan Reitman, who directed and produced the first two Ghostbusters, told Huffington Post Live that director Paul Feig may get the job.

Feig had directed the movie Bridesmaids, which starred  McCarthy and Wiig.

"I know that the studio is negotiating with Paul, and I think it's probably going to work out," said Reitman.

"There were always going to be women involved in the next iteration of Ghostbusters. Paul seems to be the perfect director to sort of bring that about."
