Hardest working man in Japanese porn earns up to $128,000 a month
Many women in Japan "know" him better than their own boyfriends or husbands.
Meet Japan porn king Ken Shimuzu, 35, more popularly known as Shimiken and the hardest working man in the AV (adult video) industry.
According to entertainment website Details, Shimiken, who has a rabid fandom, takes his job so seriously that he reaps the spoils tremendously.
He earns up to 2,800,000 yen ($32,000) a week. He owns five cars, including an Audi and frequents Tokyo's best restaurants.
Not only does he eat an all-protein diet, he lifts weights, abstains from alcohol and stays up late at night to practise his scenes.
On a busy week, he can film up to 21 scenes on top of meeting his fans at events like Adult Expos. The porn, or AV industry, in Japan is worth an estimated S$28 billion.
In his 18-year career, he has worked with more than 7,500 different female co-stars. Having not taken a vacation in seven years, he has done over 7,000 films.
Shimiken has admitted to the stresses of the job - there are only about 70 male porn stars compared with 10,000 female ones. He once tweeted that there were fewer male porn stars in Japan than there were Bengal tigers.
But money isn't everything. Shimiken admitted that he is not satisfied with his love life.
The 1.63m-tall actor, who used to date his co-stars, said: "I've never had a normal relationship. It has always ended horribly.
"It is my belief that you can't be a pretty girl in this industry and also be happy.
"This business uses pretty girls up until they feel like they have no value and they will end up quitting."
Having been married before, the daddy of twin daughters said that he fears that people will tease his girls if they knew what he did for a living.
His ex-wife and daughters live in Hokkaido and he visits them whenever he can.
"One day, I'll tell my daughters that Dad has chosen a career that makes many people very happy.
"I'll tell them I do something that brings peace to many people."
