Have you heard? There's going to be Fast & Furious 8, 9 and 10
Beloved action star Paul Walker may be dead, but Fast & Furious lives on.
Contrary to popular belief, the franchise will not be stopping at Furious 7. Instead, it's gearing up for another three movies.
Think Fast & Furious 10, if Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley's plans come to fruition.
Ms Langley told The Hollywood Reporter at a recent roundtable interview: "Paul is, and always will be, an integral part of the story. But there are many other great characters and it's also an opportunity to introduce new characters.
"I think it's still a growing franchise. We'll see what happens with Furious 7, obviously, but our box office has grown over the past three or four films and internationally, in particular.
"So we think that there's more to mine there. But we're of course very mindful about fatigue."
The Fast & Furious series has grossed more than US$2 billion (S$2.54 billion) at the global box office and helped turn around Universal’s fortunes.
Tragedy
Walker, 40, the oldest of five siblings, died last year in a fiery one-car crash in Santa Clarita, California, northwest of Los Angeles.
On a break from filming Fast & Furious 7 then, he had already shot most of the action scenes when the tragedy happened.
His death stunned fans of the high-octane series, causing production to be temporarily halted.
Walker's brothers Caleb and Cody reportedly helped finish action scenes for their older brother.
Furious 7 is set to open in cinemas here in April next year.
