Hong Kong stars Leon Lai and Mark Lui, once estranged, reunite over char siew dish
The two musicians worked together for more than 20 years.
Hong Kong pop icon Leon Lai was recently spotted dining with longtime friend and collaborator Mark Lui, sparking widespread discussion online after a photo of the two was shared.
Lui posted that he was treated to the exclusive "Soul-crushing Char Siu Rice with Lard," a specialty dish priced at HK$180 (S$29), only available in the restaurant's VIP room and requiring a reservation in advance.
The two, once estranged due to creative differences, reconciled during a trip to South Korea and have since rekindled their decades-long friendship.
Lui composed numerous hit songs for Lai over more than two decades.
Fans online were quick to comment that they now plan to visit the restaurant to try the signature dish.
A netizen commented on Lui's post: "Looks yummy! Which restaurant?".
Others commented on the pair's reunion: "It's been a long time since I've seen you two eat together like that."
