I Know What You Did Last Summer is coming back!
Most of us would remember the 1997 US slasher flick I Know What You Did Last Summer which was based on the titular 1973 novel.
The film that starred actors Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. saw the stars play four friends who are being stalked by a killer a year after they covered up a car accident which killed a pedestrian.
Taking the easy way out of what could have been a lot of trouble with the law, the group quickly decides to dispose the body into the water.
The upcoming remake will see Oculus co-writer and director Mike Flanagan and his partner Jeff Howard write the script based on the same 1973 Lois Duncan book, Deadline reported.

The blockbuster hit garnered more than US$125 million (S$157.6 million) worldwide and spawned two sequels - I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, E! Online wrote.
Neal Moritz, who produced the original film, will also return for the project.
For a year the teens, who carried on with their lives normally, thought they had escaped the crime until a note saying "I know what you did last summer" arrives at one of their doorsteps.
The film's reboot is tentatively scheduled to be released in 2016.
