Kanye West surprises college kids in their classroom
Whenever there's a guest speaker coming to class, that only means one thing to every student. It's a chill session.
But when this LA Trade Technical College saw their VIP guest speaker turn up in their classroom on Friday, the students were left shocked.
US rapper Kanye West surprised 40 students which included students from the digital communications faculty and some who didn't necessarily graduate from high school, E! Online reported.
West was said to have spent two hours talking of his experiences and struggles in the music, fashion and graphic arts industry.
In the midst of it all, West reinforced the importance of education hoping to inspire them, the publication added.
One student, Andre Pitts III, explained how the 37-year-old rapper didn't try to be a teacher when he was talking to them.
He told Vice.com: "It went on for about an hour and a half and Kanye discussed a lot of things but mainly about his inspirations. He mentioned Ice Cube being one of his biggest inspirations, but also one of his biggest let downs. He also discussed Steve Jobs, 2Pac and his grandfather."
Contact Music reported the student adding: "I've listened to Kanye since I was younger but I can't rate him as a teacher because he didn't come to teach a fashion class, he just spoke about his inspirations. He didn't try to be a teacher, he simply spoke about how life really is."
