Mya responds to Jay-Z relationship rumours: 'Never did, never will'

US singer Mya has apparently heard the gossip spreading about her being rapper Jay-Z's girlfriend, and she is not happy, reports E! Online. 

Earlier this week, Beyonce, who has been married to Jay-Z for six years, sparked rumours of trouble in paradise when she changed the lyrics to a song about cheating during a concert in Ohio. 

Mail Online reported that the third party could be Mya, who worked with Jay-Z on the song Best of Me in 2000, and that it's possible she is being financially supported by Jay-Z.

Mya has rubbished all those claims, according to this reply to a fan on Instagram:

"Never did, never was, never will. Illegitimate, thirsty sources with no facts and that's the ‘media' for you-especially today," reads the comment.

"I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage too much for nonsense."
