New Face 2014: Jessica
Jessica Lim likes to watch horror movies. Her favourite is The Conjuring.
She said: "I like to watch scary scenes, but I also try to show my friends I'm not scared."
Her other hobbies are less intense.
The 22-year-old also enjoys cafe-hopping with friends and taking photos.
"We go to different cafes and eat interesting food, and I post pictures of 'food porn' on Instagram."
She had "always dreamt" of modelling but "had trouble believing in that because it's a very competitive industry".
Over the past two years, she has been juggling her studies and her work at events.
What she likes most about her work is meeting people.
"Generally, a stranger's first impression of me is that I'm quite introverted, but in fact I'm not," she said.
"I am actually really chatty!"
On Oct 2, one young woman will be named The New Paper New Face 2014. She wins $10,000 cash and a feature in Her World magazine.
New Face has been instrumental in discovering new faces such as actresses Vanessa Vanderstraaten, Dawn Yeoh and Atikah Suhaime.
