She has definitely defied the laws of aging.
You probably wouldn't have guessed because of her continuous ability to stun the crowd but celebrating her 50th birthday on Saturday (July 26) was US actress Sandra Bullock.
Time does really fly. Bullock was cast for her first film role in 1987, where she played a supporting part in the CIA flick, Hangmen.
Having snagged an array of accolades including the more prestigious trophies from the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Oscars, Teen Choice Awards, MTV Movie Awards and People's Choice Awards, Bullock has been dubbed one of the most powerful actresses.
In honour of her big birthday, we recap seven Sandy-B movies we'll never forget:

2. Miss Congeniality, 2000
Gracie Hart transformed from her tomboyish self into one of the more promising contenders of Miss USA in this film. Bullock, who is most remembered for doing her snorty laughter in the production, which grossed more than $106 million (S$131.6 million) in the United States, and more than $212.7 million (S$264.1 million) worldwide.

The film opened at No. 2 at the U.S. Box office bringing in over US$14 million (S$17.7 million) right behind Peter Jackson's fantasy film, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.
4. The Lake House, 2006
This American romantic drama sees Keanu Reeves star, once again, alongside Bullock where they play two people living in different times (Bullock two years behind Reeves) but were able to communicate by passing hand-written messages to each other via a "magical mailbox."
5. The Proposal, 2009
A rom-com that never gets old. The comedic collaboration between her and her on-screen other half Ryan Reynolds never, at any point, failed to keep the audience entertained.
It's no wonder this Anne Fletcher production ended up being the highest grossing romantic comedy film of that year.
6. The Blind Side, 2009
Based on a true story, Bullock played the tough character of Leigh Anne Tuohy in this semi-biographical sports drama film depicting the story of Michael Oher, an NFL player in the Tennessee Titans.
Oher, who had an impoverished upbringing, was adopted by Bullock's character and was subsequently offered a spot to play NFL in college and later became a first-round pick in the NFL by the Baltimore Ravens.
Check out the touching scene where Oher was first welcomed into the Tuohy household.
7. The Heat, 2013
Another comedic combo that's almost impossible to beat is Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. In this recent Bullock film, an FBI agent and a Boston detective who develop a unique yet hilarious partnership work together to hunt down a mobster.
