Thor is now a woman in the Marvel universe
When the God of Thunder appears in Marvel comics next month, the great and mighty hero will be a woman. Yes, a WOMAN.

Marvel announced on Tuesday that a new hero has been found worthy to wield the mighty hammer, .
Series writer Jason Aaron said: “This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is not Thorita. This is THOR. This is the THOR of the Marvel Universe. But it’s unlike any Thor we’ve ever seen before.”
Said Marvel editor Wil Moss: “The inscription on Thor's hammer reads ‘Whosoever holds this hammer, if HE be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.’ Well it's time to update that inscription.”
“The new Thor continues Marvel's proud tradition of strong female characters like Captain Marvel, Storm, Black Widow and more. And this new Thor isn't a temporary female substitute - she's now the one and only Thor, and she is worthy!”
The art in this new series will be by Russell Dauterman.
Marvel said this is its 8th series to have a female lead.
The good news for actor Chris Hemsworth is that this only applies to the comic, for now.
