1 in 5 people are keeping a big secret from their spouse: Study

In sickness and in health ... and in secrecy?

In a new survey of British married couples, 20 per cent owned up to keeping a major secret from their significant other, reports The Huffington Post.

How major is 'major'?

One in four said the secret is so big that they felt their marriage would end if their spouse found out.

In the survey, conducted by UK law firm Slater & Gordon, respondents said the secrets included pornography, infidelity, financial troubles, and former relationships.

Just under half of the over 2,000 couples surveyed said they didn't think they would ever be caught, but admitted they have had trouble sleeping and had trouble with their moods because of their guilt.
