Meet the OG Gang: Veteran actors Chen Shucheng, Richard Low, Zhu Houren are on TikTok

Veteran actors Chen Shucheng, Richard Low and Zhu Houren are ready to take on TikTok.

The OG Gang page was recently set up by Chen, 75; Low, 72; and Zhu, 70, all of whom have been in the local entertainment industry since at least the 1980s.

OG is internet slang for "original gangster", which is now used to refer to those seen as pioneers or originators.

The three did a short skit in a cafe in the first video posted on Feb 22. Chen stopped an "altercation" between Zhu and Low before they turned to the camera together and said: "Let's TikTok!"

The three, who have more than 100 years of combined filming experience, spoke about some of their most unforgettable shoots in the second video posted on Feb 25.

Chen, who played a gambling exponent in The Unbeatables (1993) and The Unbeatables II (1996), said he did not know how to gamble before filming the popular dramas.

However, he learnt how to buy 4D lottery after playing Yan Kun, father of the protagonist Yan Fei, portrayed by local actor Li Nanxing.

Low said his most unforgettable filming experience involved Super Senior (2015), a TV series on the life of senior citizens which the trio starred in.

"We went to learn scuba diving even though our combined age was more than 200 years old," Low said of one of the challenges in the show. "Age is not a limitation."

Zhu chimed in: "I have already long forgotten about this even though I kept nodding my head."

The camera then panned to only Low, who said Zhu liked to cut him off whenever he spoke.

He continued: "I developed an interest in scuba diving after filming Super Senior. I eventually went to get an advanced certificate for it."

Chen then suddenly interrupted him.

"I was offered an advertisement after learning how to scuba dive, and made some money," he said, before disappearing from view.

This second video is so far the most popular of the three posted on OG Gang's TikTok page, with more than 16,600 likes and over 310 comments as at Feb 27 afternoon.
